CEBU, Philippines - The report of Talisay Mayor Johnny De los Reyes about his first 100 days in service will focus on the level of accomplishments in the implementation of his development thrusts, including garbage disposal, market development, health and livelihood.
Talisay information officer Vince Monterde said the mayor is set to deliver his report before the City Council on Tuesday. More than a report to the Council, however, Monterde said De los Reyes’ speech is meant to inform the public of what he has done as mayor in this span of time.
Meanwhile, Monterde said De los Reyes is set to inaugurate one of his pet projects, a pharmacy inside the City Hall that will cater to the poor. Asphalting of various roads in the city is almost complete while basketball, volleyball and tennis courts at the back of City Hall will be set up soon.
De los Reyes’ pledge to give the Vice Mayor and each Councilor P1M has reportedly been allocated for next year’s budget. This is reportedly intended so that the officials can easily extend assistance to those who need their help.
The city has purchased additional garbage trucks to put more teeth in the implementation of its Solid Waste Management campaign.
Five ambulances have been purchased for the rural health center while additional vehicles have been provided for the police. –/JMO (FREEMAN)
