CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Health Office has recorded fewer cases of dengue fever during the first half of the year compared to the same period last year.
From January to July this year, the office recorded 157 cases compared to 229 cases during the same period last year.
Only one death was recorded so far this year. Last year, two persons died of the fever.
Of the 27 barangays in the city, Subangdaku has the highest number of cases with 31, followed by Banilad with 20, Maguikay with 12, Cubacub with 10, while both Basak and Tipolo have nine cases each, and barangay Paknaan recorded one death. (FREEMAN)
