Cordova to promote town thru eco-cultural activities

CEBU, Philippines - The municipal government of Cordova will tap the Department of Education as well as barangay officials to promote eco-cultural and historical activities in the town, said Gregorio Jumao-as, consultant of the cultural and historical commission in the town.

In a talk with The Freeman, Jumao-as said Mayor  Adelino Sitoy has asked him to initiate a program that will promote eco-cultural and historical activities in the town’s 13 barangays.

Jumao-as said officials of the Department of Education have expressed their full support to the plan.

Jumao-as said it is of utmost importance that students in both elementary and high schools should know the history of the tow.

He said knowledge of the town’s history would come in handy when tourists ask questions about the town.

“Dako kaayo ug tabang ang mga kabataan aron atong mapalambo ang historical ug cultural nga kalihukan sa lungsod ilabi na gayud usab pagpalambo sa turismo niini,” Jumao-as said. (FREEMAN)
