Woman “raped” by ex-boyfriend

CEBU, Philippines - A 20-year-old single mother has alleged his former boyfriend raped her Wednesday evening but refuses to file charges against him because he is the father of her daughter.

She claimed she was in bed that night when the boyfriend arrived and threatened to shoot her if she refused to have sex with him.

Police arrested the man Thursday morning and found a toy gun in his possession.

PO3 Marjorie Paller, Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk officer, said the man was detained but was released from the stockade yesterday at 4:00 p.m. because the woman refused to file charges against him.

Paller said the couple broke up three years ago.

“Maluoy kuno siya kay mao may amahan sa iyang anak,” Paller said. (FREEMAN)
