CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City council has asked Governor Hilario Davide III for vehicles for the public information office and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Councilor Danilo Caballero said the two offices need vehicles in order to perform their work efficiently.
Caballero said the city has appointed a public information officer whose obligation is to provide relevant, adequate, and timely information to the local government unit and its residents but can’t be efficient for lack of vehicle.
“The acquisition of transportation equipment such as a multicab is necessary for the City Public Information Office for effective mobilization of its services,†he said.
Caballero also said the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office should be equipped with a multicab to facilitate the mobility of its services and transport supplies or other logistics to areas that are affected by calamities.
He said the acquisition of a transportation equipment such as a multicab for Talisay City Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management will ease the difficulty in delivering basic services.
Meanwhile, the council also asked Senator Vicente C. Sotto III to donate or provide communication equipment such as handheld radios for the Talisay City Police Station personnel particularly in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Caballero said the Talisay City Police lacks sufficient communication devices. – (FREEMAN)
