CEBU, Philippines - The police in Minglanilla town arrested three men Friday and Saturday in Ward II, barangay Poblacion, Minglanilla town for stealing motorcycles.
Arrested were Bryan Agbanlog, 24, of sitio Mananga, barangay Tabunok, Talisay City and Alvin Pardillo, 20, of Minglanilla town.
Agbanlog’s younger brother, Nelson, 20, the alleged look-out, eluded arrest.
Chief Inspector Timmar Jomio Alam, chief of Minglanilla Police Station, said the two men were arrested with the help of officials of barangay Tunghaan and Ward II.
Alam told reporters yesterday that Agbanlog is from Cavite.
He was arrested by the police Thursday morning after restaurant owner Dionesio Tinebro claimed Agbanlog paid him a fake P1,000.00 bill for his orders.
Alam said one of his officers recognized Agbanlog as one of those responsible for stealing motorcycles thrice in a row last July.
Agbanlog admitted having been charged in court for stealing a motorcycle last May in Minglanilla but said this was dismissed after the motorcycle agreed to settle the case amicably.
Alam said individuals victimized by Agbanlog have been invited to the station to identify him.
Geef Aldrin Secuya of barangay Ward II identified Agbanlog as the one who stole a motorcycle.
Alam said Agbanlog led the police to an automotive shop in sitio Kimba, barangay San Roque, Talisay City where he had sold stolen motorcycles.
Two of the motorcycles sold were recovered but these had already been disassembled.
One of the motorcycles was stolen last July.
Last Monday morning the shop owner voluntarily turned over the two motorcycles after these had been reassembled.
Agbanlog also told police his younger brother Nelson and Pardillo are involved in stealing motorcycles.
Pardillo hotwires the motorcycle while Nelson acts as the lookout.
Last Friday evening Pardillo was arrested while Nelson got away.
Agbanlog said he is from Cavite but he has a relative in sitio Mananga. He came to Cebu in 2011.
Agbanlog also said he and Pardillo are friends and had rented a house in Ward II.
Pardillo denied all the allegations against him. (FREEMAN)
