Talisay City dad wants to know Alay Lakad’s financial position

CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Councilor Dennis Basillote wants to know how much money the Alay Lakad Foundation has in its coffers before he starts soliciting additional funds for it.

Basillote plans to ask P250,000 from first district representative Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas, P250,000 from governor Hillario Davide III, and another P250,000 from Talisay City  Mayor Johnny De los Reyes but last Tuesday, he set aside his three proposed resolutions to inquire about the present financial position of the foundation.

The fund raised by the Alay Lakad is spent on tuition of the foundation’s scholars.

Basillote said the foundation pays P3,000 every semester to the Talisay City State College for each of its 503 scholars.

Basillote sees more poor students continuing their studies if his proposed resolutions get the nod of the council.  (FREEMAN)
