CEBU, Philippines - A shellcraft worker who became controversial in his barangay for having killed two dogs by dousing acid on them was shot to death Sunday afternoon outside of his home in sitio Upper Bontores, barangay Mohon, Talisay City.
The police have tagged Eduardo Pardillo, 28, and his 17-year-old brother as the killers of Alfred Alindao, 44.
The police claimed that at around 10 a.m. last Sunday, Alindao reportedly scolded Pardillo after catching Pardillo’s younger brother allegedly stealing mangoes from his backyard.
A few hours later, an armed Pardillo allegedly went to Alindao’s house ostensibly with the intent to kill him.
But Pardillo’s gun failed to fire after pulling the trigger, Alindao’s wife, Tessie, who witnessed the meeting of the two men, said.
At this instance, Pardillo pistol-whipped Alindao and then called his younger brother for help, police said.
The younger brother, now wielding a butcher knife, came and attacked Alindao, police said.
Tessie attempted to help her husband but was reportedly pulled away by one of the brothers.
Alindao sustained two stab wounds.
SPO1 Edgar Causon and homicide investigators of the Talisay City Police Station said the Pardillo brothers fled after the killing. (FREEMAN)
