Paz’s dream: Turn city into sports tourism hub

CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza yesterday hopes to achieve her dream in making Lapu-Lapu a sports tourism destination in the country.

Radaza issued the statement in yesterday’s regular press conference as the city sent off the Grupo Nopo team which will compete in Malaysia.

She said the city has already carved a name in this area.

Radaza said “In my first term, , the city hosted the international Davis Cup tennis tournament and the Ironman. ”

In fact, Radaza said this year the city has been named the official host city of the Cobra Energy Drink Iron Man 70.3 Philippines. It will be held on August 4.

“This September, we will once again host, for the fifth time, the Davis Cup,” the mayor said.  (FREEMAN)
