Blue guard arrested

CEBU, Philippines - The police in Liloan town arrested Monday evening an ex-soldier who works as a security guard for grave threats, illegal possession of a firearm, and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Raul Fernandez, 50, of Summer Ville Subdivision, barangay Cotcot, Liloan and employed as a security guard by Stalwart Security Agency was detained following his arrest.

Desk officer PO3 Renato Pendo said Fernandez created a scene in his neighborhood by aiming his .38 revolver at some neighbors and threatening to kill them.

He allegedly discharged his gun once but hit no one.

Police believed Fernandez was under the influence of liquor at the time.

Pendo said the man had no security guard license, duty detail order, and a gun license to show.

Police have filed charges against him.  (FREEMAN)
