CEBU, Philippines - Mayor Michael Rama has organized “Operation Plan Kahayag†composed of members from the Visayan Electric Company (VECO), Department of Education (DepEd), and other organizations whose task is to ensure uninterrupted power supply, particularly in voting centers, on Monday.
Rama said representatives from the Lighting Division of the Department of Public Services (DPS) and from the Association of Electrical Engineers may probably join “Kahayag.â€
Voting will start at 7 o’clock in the morning and will end at 7 o’clock in the evening.
The 2010 elections saw Cebu City Hall collecting several flashlights and extra batteries in anticipation of a power failure, although the voting at that time was set to end at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. (FREEMAN)
