Jail officials watching inmates for diseases

CEBU, Philippines - With the onset of the summer season, Naga City jail warden Senior Supt. Dennis Alino yesterday said they are closely monitoring the 79 inmates who could catch diseases brought about by congestion.

“Sa pagkakaron, kaluoy sa Ginoo, wala ma’y nasakit pero nag-monitor kita sa ilang kahimtang. The congestion problem is not exclusive to Naga City but also true in other jails in the country,” Alino said.

Alino said they encourage inmates to bathe twice a day to avoid heat stroke.

Drinking fountains will also be installed, he said.

Officials have already noticed skin irritations and coughs among the inmates.  (FREEMAN)
