CEBU, Philippines - Compostela residents will have the chance to join the longest procession ever to be held in the town on Tuesday, which will be known as “Pasos sa Martes Santo,†and another long one on Good Friday.
In yesterday’s press conference, Father Alex Trocino, assistant parish priest of Archdiocesan Shrine of St. James the Apostle in Compostela said that in previous years, the procession took a shorter route with few people joining.
But Trocino said this year parishioners here and abroad have expressed their support to the planned processions.
“Nalipay kayo kita nga wala gayud mibalibad sa atong mga gihangyo nga mutampo aron magmalampuson kining atong dakong kalihukan sa parokya karong semana santa,†said Trocino.
The police and barangay officials will maintain peace and order and direct traffic.
“Karon pa lang gani nakita na nako ang kalampusan ug kadaghan sa atong mga parokyano nga mutambong ug muapil sa atong himoon nga unang taas nga prosesyon sa parokya sa Compostela,†said Father Trocino. (FREEMAN)
