CEBU, Philippines - A man broke into a couple’s house in barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla town Wednesday and stole almost P100,000 worth of valuables.
Rosalinda Marsh, 53, and her husband, Irish national Aiden Marsh, 58, alleged that the burglar entered their house while they went out for a medical checkup.
SPO1 Roland Camillo said signs on the main door indicated there was forced entry.
The couple lost a 14-carat gold puzzle ring worth P25,000, a laptop valued at P20,000, a pair of P10,000 Spyder sunglasses, Olympus camera worth P7,000, a pair of silver earrings at P2,000, prescription sunglasses worth P1,000, a watch for P2,500, and a silver ring with a value of P25,000.
Camillo said couple’s helper was the only one left at home.
She reportedly saw the burglar go out of the house.
“Nagsira na sa pultahan ang kawatan, buko-buko ra iyang nakit-an,†Camillo said.
Baby was about five to seven meters away when the burglar made his way out of the house.
The police have discount the possibility of an inside job.
“Dili ra kay ilang apartment maoy gisaka naay lain pero so far wala pa mi identity ani,†Camillo said.
Camillo further said that Baby is a trustee of the couple since aside from being a relative of Rosalinda, she has been serving the couple for years.
Police are still conducting further investigation on the matter. (FREEMAN)
