CEBU, Philippines - The National Housing Authority regional office has asked the city government of Lapu-Lapu through the city council to submit all requirements needed for the medium-rise housing project the city wishes to build at a 25-hectare lot in barangay Canjulao.
Once NHA gives the go signal, the city will immediately construct houses for an initial 3,651 urban poor households from 62 accredited urban poor associations in 14 barangays that include coastal villages Looc, Babag, and others.
Most informal settlers in the city occupy government properties.
The proposed socialized housing project started during the administration of former mayor and now Congressman Arturo Radaza.
Mayor Paz Radaza said socialized housing is one of her administration's priority projects. — (FREEMAN)
