Man stabs, kills drinking buddy
CEBU, Philippines - A man died after getting stabbed by a drinking buddy that he had made fun of Monday afternoon in sitio Psalm Base, barangay Poblacion, Talisay City.
The victim, identified only as “Abayâ€, of Talisay City, was stabbed on the back, and died while on his way to the Talisay City District Hospital.
The suspect, Luciano Tribunalo, 44, a trisikad driver, of barangay Dumlog, Talisay City surrendered to the police after the incident.
SPO1 Mikie Espina, PO1 Stephen Sefuesca and PO1 Edwin Campomanes immediately took the victim to hospital.
Espina said that before the incident, Tribulano and “Abay†were drinking “tuba,†or native coconut wine.
When the two were a bit tipsy, “Abay†allegedly made fun of Tribunalo.
Tribulano allegedly asked “Abay†to stop teasing him but to no avail.
He then excused himself on the pretense he was to relieve himself.
But Tribulano went to his trisikad to get a knife instead.
When he returned, he struck “Abay†with it when his back was turned to him.
Espina said Tribulano has not shown remorse.
He said it makes no difference to Tribulano whether he is in jail or not because he has no family and sleeps most of the time in his traysikad. — (FREEMAN)
