Korean national sued for murder

CEBU, Philippines - A murder case has been filed against the Korean national whose woman companion was found dead inside a hotel room with him in Lapu-Lapu City.

The police have obtained a copy of a footage made by a CCTV camera of the Hotel San Francisco in barangay Basak and have concluded no third party involved in the death of 21-year-old Whenvy Jean Noel, a resident of sitio Kinalumsan in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City while her companion, Hyun Chul Hwang, alias “Charles” remain comatose in a hospital.

He is believed to have attempted suicide after allegedly killing the woman.

The result of the autopsy conducted by Dr. Nestor Satur of the PNP crime laboratory shows Noel died of “asphyxia by strangulation.”

Result also showed that the woman’s genitals and her breasts showed signs of sexual abuse.

Contusions also were found in the different parts of her body.

LLCPO director P Sr./Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas also said the police have established that the woman and the Korean had an employer-employee relationship.

The Korean had planned to invest in a cellphone accessories shop.

The woman’s twin sister said she remembers her sister telling her that the Korean is “ill-mannered.”

The CCTV Camera showed that last Feb. 8 at around 10:38 p.m., both Noel and Hwang registered as guests at the hotel.

Noel entered the hotel room first, proof that the Korean did not use force.

Last Feb 9, at around 9 p.m., both the Korean and Noel were found naked on top of the bed, the Korean unconscious, the woman already dead. (FREEMAN)
