2 men shoot at house of man linked to drugs

CEBU, Philippines - Two men on a motorcycle fired at the house of an alleged drug pusher in sitio Manga, barangay Umapad in Mandaue City yesterday dawn, missing the occupants, an 81-year-old woman and her 52-year-old son.

Patricia Iway and Leo Iway were not hit but the bullets from a .45 cal. pistol caused damage to two windows and a steel frame.

Opao police station chief P Sr./Insp Stephen Amamag-id had surmised that the two men’s intention may not have been to hurt people but to force Willie Iway to come out of the house. Willie Iway is allegedly engaged in illegal drugs. He is Leo’s brother.

“Murag tan-aw nato way intention nga pamatyon ang mga nagpuyo sa sulod sa maong ba’y , gusto lang nilang mang-harass aron mulugwa na si Willie Iway kay posibli og naay na-tumbling nga drugas, gani sila mismo nagtupo drug nga drug-related gumikan sa pagpamaligya niadto ni Willie og ginadiling drugas,” Amamag-id said.
