CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City council has officially welcomed the newly installed officer-in-charge police chief Superintendent Elmer Lim.
Lim, who paid a courtesy call on members of the city council yesterday, said it was an honor to appear before the city’s legislative department.
Talisay City Vice Mayor Alan Bucao, who is the council presiding officer and chairman of the committee on public safety, asked that Lim not only inform the mayor on police matters, but also other city officials as well.
Lim said he will comply with the vice mayor’s request.
Bucao plans to meet with the police regularly.
He said Lim’s willingness to interact with city officials on the matter could help identify problems that hound the police force.
The city council approved yesterday a resolution that asked Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez to provide a VHF/FM radio repeater system and 10 transceivers.
Bucao said the resolution was made after Lim informed the council regarding the lack of communication equipment of the police station. (FREEMAN)
