CSCR closed Sunday dawn for marathon

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday at 1 a.m. and will be opened at 10 a.m. to allow the marathon organized by Cebu Runners Club to proceed.

Almond Keith Dela Peña of the City of Talisay-Traffic Operation Development Authority (CT-TODA) said yesterday that the seaside of CSCR in Talisay City will be closed at 1:00 a.m. at which time the organizer will install water stations.

The lane near the mountainside will temporarily be converted into a two-way traffic lane.

Vehicles from Talisay City to Cebu City have to turn left to Mambaling road in CSCR going to N. Bacalso Avenue in Cebu City.

Vehicles from Cebu City will have to turn right going to Talisay straight to the south.

The two lanes of the road in the corner of Calungsod templete going to tunnel will be both closed.

The race will start at 4:00 am and the starting area will be at the IT Park in Cebu City, which will then proceed to Osmeña Boulevard down to Palma Street then to the tunnel.

Dela Peña said that at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday the CSCR will be opened again to traffic.  (FREEMAN)
