CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue-based motorcycle giant, Norkis Trading Corporation, donated the other day 20 motorcycles to the city government.
The motorcycles will go to the Philippine National Police and the city’s traffic department.
Norkis Trading Corporation chairman Norberto Quisumbing said motorcycles would help the city’s campaign against criminality.
Norkis is celebrating its 50th year in the business this year.
It has now over 400 branches nationwide with over 6,000 employees. It started its business in Mandaue City in 1962.
Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes expressed his gratitude for the donation.
Quisumbing said Norkis is now ready to donate 200 motorcycles worth P10 million to the PNP Foundation through Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.
“It’s ready for delivery. We are just waiting for the PNP Foundation’s acceptance,” he said.
Quisumbing said it is up to the foundation to determine the recipients of the donation.
