Drunken man stabs neighbor to death

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged drunk stabbed dead a neighbor who refused to hand over money for another bottle of liquor Sunday afternoon in sitio Sawsawa, barangay Tanke, Talisay City.

Promencio Anzale, native of A3 Bodoni Street, Fourth Estate Subdivision, Parañaque City and temporarily residing at the place, was stabbed twice on the chest.

He was taken to the Talisay City District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Now detained at the Talisay City stockade is Eric Reyes, 29.

He was arrested by the police after a chase.

Seized from him were a snow cap and a 12-inch long knife.

The police said Reyes was having a drink with friends at around 2:43 p.m. when they reportedly ran out of liquor.

Reyes approached Anzale and asked for money to buy additional liquor but Anzale reportedly refused for he had none.

Reyes allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Anzale.

Reyes was arrested and admitted to the crime.

Charges are being prepared against Reyes. (FREEMAN)
