EGS-Solid North sets up final clash with RKF Iloilo
CEBU, Philippines — The EGS-Solid North and RKF
Iloilo knocked out separate foes to arrange a championship showdown in the 1st Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia Cup Invitational Basketball Tournament 2025 on Thursday night, January 30, at the Cebu City Sports Institute (CCSI) Gym in Barangay Sawang Calero.
Kaisus Small Martin sizzled with 16 points, two rebounds, four assists and two steals while Will Kean Lee and Georelle Gonzales had 29 points between them as EGS-Solid North annihilated Fiesta Gas of San Carlos City, 101-66, to move a win away from the crown.
In the other semifinal matchup, Cedrick Ablaza produced a solid double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds while MJ de la Virgen and Jay Pee Belencion combined for 28 points as RKF Iloilo subdued Team Khalifa of Tacloban City, 71-64, to book the other final ticket.
EGS-Solid North and RKF Iloilo Khalifa were still slugging it out for the P300,000 champion’s purse as of this writing last night while Khalifa battled against Fiesta Gas for the P100,000 third prize.
