CEBU, Philippines —  Bandal reigned supreme in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) 20th National Convention of Lawyers (NCL) Rapid Chess Tournament 2025 on Wednesday, January 29, at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Bandal was actually tied with Philip King Cartagena of IBP-Quezon City with similar 5.0 points but the labor arbiter representing IBP-Negros Oriental bagged the first-place trophy courtesy of a higher tiebreaker.

Sherily Cua of IBP-CALMANA, William Cordova of IBP-Cebu and Fiscal Rodrigo Aquino Jr. of IBP-Nueva Ecija occupied the third to fifth spots , respectively, with 4.5 points each.

Vernie Tinapay of IBP-Cebu landed at solo sixth with 4.0 points.

Rounding up the Top 10 finishers were Aaron Quilang of IBP-Isabela, and Jeah Jean Gacang, Michael Esparagoza, and Nowyn Hope Jangad of IBP-Cebu with 3.5 points.
