19th Thirsty Football Cup launched

CEBU, Philippines — The 19th edition of the annual Thirsty Football Cup will take place on March 28-30 at the Cebu City Sports Center.

This was announced by the organizers led by John Pages during the event’s launching yesterday via Zoom.

A pioneer in the Vis-Min region with the festival-type format, the Thirsty Cup is one of the biggest and longest-running football tournaments in the Philippines.

Since its inception in 2003, dozens of top-caliber, national-level players have participated in the yearly tilt. There were also years when contingents from South Korea and other countries joined.

This year, the three-day competition sanctioned by the Central Visayas Football Association (CVFA) features a total of 13 categories.

These are the Players 7, Players 9, Players 11, Girls 15, Girls 17, Boys 13, Boys 15, Boys 17,

Boys 19, Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Mixed Open, and 40 Above.

Registration will begin on January 27 on a first come, first served basis.

Entry fee is pegged at P3,800 for Players 7, Players 9, Players 11, Girls 15, Girls 17, Boys 13, Boys 15, Boys 17 and Boys 19, and P4, 500 for Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Mixed Open, and 40 Above.

Those who will register from January 27 to February 12 will get a P500 discount.
