CEBU, Philippines — The ARQ Builders led the cast of top-performing teams in the highly successful Daily Grind I.T 3x3 Season 4 Christmas League at the Ground Zero Sports and Fitness Hub in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City recently.
ARQ fended off the Karnehan squad of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles U15 coach Toton Tundag, 18-15, in the final match to emerge as champion in the Parents category.
Talisay City Mayor Samsam Gullas paced ARQ with eight points, four rebounds, and three assists to grab the MVP award.
Jason Arquisola chipped in with six points, six rebounds, and two assists, while Gembert Chua of Shetzue’s Razor added three points, seven rebounds, and two assists.
Tristan Rama is the other member of the ARQ team mentored by University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors coach Paul Joven.
On the other hand, Kristoff Dwayne Areja, Neilson Jan Bartolini, Yeshua Inoc, and Duke Rovin Eballe bagged the 10 Under crown, Eddie Ngo, Zuriel Encarnacion, Sage Bestante, and Yohan Binagatan clinched the U12 title, while Andre Peñaranda, Sebastian Vicentillo, Xian Tagimacruz, and Cassius Raganas reigned supreme in the U13 age group.
Anthon Berame, Ryle Bertulfo, Johnclyde Undag, and Miggy Palomo ruled the U15 class, while Jhon Enriquez, Angelo Catarina. Kent Sarsosa, and Jon Barredo dominated the U16 division.
Daily Grind coach Tommy Spencer Ugsimar and his team spearheaded the yearly family event to provide opportunities for players to showcase and refine their skills in a competitive setting. — (FREEMAN)
