CEBU, Philippines — Expect an exciting hardcourt action as the best and the brightest basketball players of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. will collide against each other in the highly anticipated 2024 CESAFI All-Star games today (Sunday, November 24) at the Cebu Coliseum.
Showtime starts at 1 p.m. featuring the selected cagers from the high school division.
Suiting for the East team are Jan Vince Oringo, J Lord Pepito and Kyle Barrieta of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars, Jake Yong, Carlo Salgarino and Stephen Pagalan of the University of Cebu (UC ) Baby Webmasters, and Lybron James Lamo, Kenneth Robert Fuller and Reyvene Arobo of the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons.
Also in the East lineup under the guidance of USJ-R coach Julius Cadavis are Fritz Gonzalez, Champ Brigoli and Ralph Seares of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers, Xian Garcia and Zack Judilla of the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors, and Kyle Nalisa of the Benedicto College (BC) Baby Cheetahs.
They will go up against the West squad bannered by Alden Cainglet, Froilan Maglasang and Lars Fjellvang of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles, John Nathan de la Torre, Kenneth Cole and Roderick Cambarijan of the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers, and Kieff Russel Suarez, Randel Jay Mendaros and Ryko Batuigas of the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT-U) Baby Wildcats.
Wade Adam Luche, Prince Juver Neil Mallorca and Dan Mitchell Ferraren of University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM), Brent Cuyno and Karl Agravante of the Cebu Roosevelt Memorial Colleges (CRMC) Baby Mustangs, and Angelo de la Cerna of the Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC)-Cebu Greywolves complete the West roster mentored by Axel Rabaya of the CIT-U Baby Wildcats.
In the battle of collegiate stars at 5 p.m., Kent Ivo Salarda, Jimpaul Amistoso, Ivan Clark Alsola, Raul Gentallan and Froilan Maglasang of the UV Green Lancers will lead the East under coach Paul Alelu Flores of the CRMC Mustangs.
Aside from his wards in Paulo Dalumpines, Keaton Taburnal and Earl Laniton, Flores will also count on Elmer Echavez, Felvic Dorado and AJ Calizar of the USJ-R Jaguars, and Matt Flores, JZ Dizon, Kent Joshua Cabanlit and AJ de los Reyes of the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Fighting Maroons.
On the other hand, the West of coach BJ Murillo will parade Zareygel Rosano, Jasper Pacaña, Michael Diaz and Jhiey Paraldo of the UC Webmasters, AJ Tolipas, Serge Gabines and Kenneth Babalcon of the BC Cheetahs, Neon Chavez, John Miguel Maglasang and Peter John Peteros of the USPF Panthers, Jerian Marc Abello, Edgar Sajol and Matthew Paras of the CIT-U Wildcats and James Gica and Bryle Puntual of the USC Warriors.
