CEBU, Philippines — The finals cast is now complete in the Mandaue Pride Basketball Association (MPBA) Commissioner’s Cup Season 3 at the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) gym.
In the Elite Division, the Artera Builders knocked out the Steadfast Builders, 79-75, to set up a title showdown with defending champion ARQ Builders.
Kenneth Brillo paced Artera with a double-double show of 15 points and 12 rebounds laced with three assists.
He was ably backed up by Joseph Cabahug and Paul Sungahid who combined for 33 points.
Miguel Gastador sizzled with 28 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals, while Rendell Senining nailed 16 markers but their efforts went down the drain for Steadfast.
In the other result, Mark Monte exploded for 30 points on top of 11 rebounds and eight assists as Welec ousted Void, 87-75, to barge into the Premier Division finals against the Metro Cars, which advanced to the tournament’s ultimate stage after a dominant 99-82 victory over the Flago Prayboys.
Francis Monteron contributed 23 points, while Tawee Canedo added 12 points and 20 rebounds in a dazzling defensive show effort for Welec.
On the other hand, Jerick Gonzaga led a balanced offensive performance of Metro Cars with 19 points followed by Dwight Godinez with 17 points, 12 assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
Albert Borling chipped in with 14 points while Joemarie Beldoro and Hersley Fuentes tallied 22 points in between them.
The two championship matches are scheduled on November 30 at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.
