CEBU, Philippines — Pulpogan and Lamac claimed championship berths in their respective divisions in the 14th Mayor Teresa “Nene” P. Alegado Cup Fiesta Basketball League in Consolacion, Cebu.
In the seniors level, Pulpogan dethroned the defending champion Lamac via a 101-79 blowout.
Rexon Moneva exploded for 31 points, while James Saliot and Cris Perolino combined for 26 points for Pulpogan, which will take on either Nangka or Jugan in the finals.
On other hand hand, Pulpogan finished off Pitogo in decisive fashion, 68-44, to arrange a best-of-three title showdown with Cabangahan in SK category.
Patrick Damayo topped Pulpogan with 23 points, while CJ Mission added 11 markers.
In the midget class, Lamac knocked out Pulpogan, 89-82, to barge into the finals.
Kent Bryan Mendoza fired 26 points for Lamac.
Mendoza was ably backed up by Cliff Raven Presbitero and Kerwin Pacaldo with 16 points each for Lamac, which will face next Jugan in a race-to-2 duel for the midget crown.
Meanwhile, Casili trounced Pitogo, 103-82, to settle for third place in SK division.
Arnold Responte paced Casili with 24 points while Reezan Gonzaga and Clyde Alilin contributed 18 points each. — (FREEMAN)
