PYFBA teams shine in ANS 3x3 tourney

The PYFBA ballers made their presence felt with a quarterfinal finish and a championship crown in the recently concluded ANS Sports 3x3 Basketball Tournament Season 2 at the Sisters of Mary School-Boystown in Barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla.

CEBU, Philippines — The spirited hardcourt warriors of the Professional Youth Fellowship Basketball Advocacy (PYFBA) made a good account of themselves in the recently concluded Allied Network Solutions (ANS) Sports 3x3 Basketball Tournament Season 2 at the Sisters of Mary School-Boystown in Barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla.

The PYFBA Team A bannered by Xerex Russell Saberon, Christian Migallos, Jersey Niño Llacuna, and Anton Gratones upended the RJN squad, 18-12, to emerge as champion in the 16 Under division.

In the same age group, the PYFBA-B composed of Clark Jan Rellosa, Christian Joseph “CJ” Avelino, Janssen Barquilla, and Justin Keith de la Cruz made it to the quarterfinals.

PYFBA founder Deej Villanueva couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments.

“What a remarkable performance from the whole team,” said Villanueva. “Big congratulations to the players who gave it their all on the court and brought home the win. You guys made us proud!”

Villanueva made special mention of coaches Jan Randy Rellosa and Alex Roa, team manager Ana Lou Rellosa, Regie Gratones and Jovy Avelino for their support throughout the season.

“This win and incredible run wouldn’t have been possible without all your love and encouragement. Let’s keep this energy going!” Villanueva ended. — (FREEMAN)
