CEBU, Philippines — The third edition of the Bankal Chess Club Rapid Tournament is scheduled on Sunday, September 22, at the Barangay Bankal gym in Lapu-Lapu City.
Game time is set at 9:30 a.m.
The eight-round Swiss system competition organized by Bankal Chess Club executive director Stephen Rosales and Jonathan Mendola in partnership with Dr. Edwin Cablao, TESDA-Central Visayas regional director Engr. Gamaliel Vicente, Jr. and Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) is open only to teenage players aged 17 years old and below.
The champion will go home P3,000 richer, while the second to fifth placers will pocket P2,000, P1,000, P800, and P600, respectively. The sixth to 10th will receive P400 each.
The top Bankal member and lady finisher will have a P500 bonus while the top kiddies (12 Under) will get a P400 incentive.
Registration fee is pegged at P200 for club members, ladies, kiddies, and PWDs and P250 for regular players.
