CEBU, Philippines — Veteran coach Mike Reyes will be at the helm of Gia’s Laundry Services/4B Gamefarm in the upcoming Macrohon Under 26 Invitational Basketball Tournament 2024 slated on September 17-20 in Macrohon, Southern Leyte.
Reyes, a decorated bench tactician with multiple titles under his belt both in the amateur and commercial leagues, will guide a collection of former collegiate stars under the banner of Gia’s Laundry/4B Gamefarm.
Among them Jeorolan Omandac, Sean Sajo, Justin Jake Rosete and John Fritz Banzon of the University of the Visayas (UV) Lancers, Jules Langres of the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, Ryzel Gilbuena of the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors, and Jayson Puray of the National University (NU) Bulldogs.
They will see action alongside American cager Alpha Gueye of Sirius Star Pilipinas, Josh Gozo, Joshua Malabanan, and Patrick Dobleros, a hardcourt standout from Minglanilla.
Aside from the 4B Gamefarm, the other title contenders of the four-day tilt that offers a total of P275,000 in cash prize are the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU)-Batangas Pirates, Immaculate Conception College Blue Hawks, Adamson University Soaring Falcons, and Saint Joseph College Green Hawks.
Organized by the Macrohon LGU headed by Mayor Alan Jose Aroy as part of their annual fiesta celebration in honor of their patron Saint Michael the Archangel on September 29, the champion will take home P100,000 while the first runner-up will pocket P75,000.
No one will go home empty-handed as third to fifth placers will receive P50,000, P30,000, and P20,000, respectively. — (FREEMAN)
