CEBU, Philippines — Zaionyl Rosano and Mark Leonard Solonia combined for 47 big points to power the Artera Builders to a 93-74 thrashing of Matia’s Foodhaus, 93-74, in the Elite Division of the Mandaue’s Pride Basketball Association (MPBA) Commissioner’s Cup Season 3 over the weekend at the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) Gym.
Rosano fired 25 points while Solonia added 22 points as Artera moved to solo second place with a 2-1 win-loss card.
Joseph Cabahug and Justine Dacalos also made their presence felt for Artera with 10 points each.
Dyle Dajalos exploded for 26 points while Fritz Dajalos nailed 18 markers but their efforts went down the drain as Matia’s absorbed its second loss in three starts.
In the Premier Division, both HomeSourced and Welec evened their records at 2-2.
Alberto Talisay netted 14 points while Isabello Almohallas and Bolyn Hilario connived for 21 points as HomeSourced held off Urestore, 68-63.
Steven Cabanday and Sherwin Resilla each scored 12 while Arjay Jumao-as posted 10 points for Urestore, which fell to 1-3.
On the other hand, Carlo Bacalos dished out a solid double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds to propel Welec to a 104-81 blowout of Slowgrind.
RC Espinosa and Francis Monteron bangged in 18 points apiece, while Mark Monte and AJ Gabato tallied 24 points in between them underscoring Welec’s balanced offensive.
Gerard Matthew Colina dropped 24 points, while MacMac Molina, Jaykel Atillo and Lee Brandon Tiu connived for 38 points but to no avail as Slowgrind stayed winless in three games. — (FREEMAN)
