Ex-UC Webmaster Kyle Ordeniza now a licensed mechanical engineer
CEBU, Philippines — The former varsity players of the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters basketball team basked in the glow of back-to-back success just days apart from each other.
After producing a registered criminologist, the Webmasters has minted another licensed professional.
This time, a mechanical engineer.
Kyle Fritz Ordeniza, an All-Star guard during his three-year stint with the Webmasters in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI), was among those who passed the Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination given by the Board of Mechanical Engineering in August 2024.
The good news came just three days after Ordeniza’s erstwhile teammate Luigi Kondrad Gabisan hurdled the Licensure Examination for Criminologists administered by the Board of Criminology last July.
“It was a tough journey, but I’ve made it — from a student-athlete to a registered Mechanical Engineer,” said Ordeniza, who gave himself an advancedbirthday gift as he turns 25 on September 5.
“Thank you so much, Lord! You know how much I struggled with preparing for this exam. I always surrendered this to You, and You never fail to amaze me,” the Iligan City-native playmaker added.
Ordeniza, who played a key role when the Webmasters reached the CESAFI Season 22 Finals under the guidance of coach Kenneth Kernn Sesante two years ago, thanked all those who helped him get where is he is today.
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my family for their unwavering support throughout the review and board exam period. I couldn’t have done it without you,” Ordeniza continued.
“To my UC basketball family, thank you for guiding and shaping me into who I am today. The discipline and motivation I gained from being part of the team were crucial in earning this license.”
