CEBU, Philippines — The rampaging Puresteel Manufacturing Batch 2011 and ‘04 For the Win Batch 2004 breezed through their fifth straight in the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 27 last Sunday, June 23, at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Bradley Bacaltos muscled his way to 22 points, five rebounds, and six assists while Bernard Chioson added 10 points and 10 rebounds to power Batch 2011 to a 55-44 drubbing of Subtero Batch 2006.

Batch 2011, thus, stayed on top of Division B table alongside Batch 2004, which maintained its perfect start of the season with an 84-46 rout of ZeroNine Batch 2009.

Christopher Consunji spearheaded Batch 2004’s hot charge with 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals followed by Franco Augusto Te with 13 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Dangen Gendrauli and Mark Blanco both finished with a double-double. Gendrauli had 12 points and 15 rebounds, while Blanco tallied 10 markers and 13 rebounds but their efforts proved futile as Batch 2006 dropped to 2-3.

Joseph Ian Roma had 15 points and four rebounds for Batch 2009, which languished further at the cellar with a pitiful 0-5 mark.

In other result, Gabe Branzuela sparkled with 20 points as ZLREJ Trading and Construction Batch 2010 improved its record to 3-2 with a 69-59 whacking of Radius One Batch 2007. — (FREEMAN)
