CEBU, Philippines — The Professional Youth Fellowship Basketball Advocacy (PYFBA) in partnership with Trillis and Manley Builders is staging a Rise Above 40:Lift Others As You Rise goodwill tournament at the House of Rapha Sports Center at Green Valley Subdivision in Barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.

“With immense pleasure, I would like to welcome you all to our league. More than showcasing your skills, I hope you should make the best of this opportunity to foster fellowship and show your spirit of comradeship with your fellow players. Good luck and have fun!” PYFBA program director Deej Villanueva said.

Villanueva said Rise Above 40 is a recreational league that endeavors to provide basketball enthusiasts a platform to play in a positive and enjoyable environment while nurturing wellness and a healthy well-being through physical fitness.

“It also aims to boost PYFBA’s youth program in a friendly yet competitive way,” added Villanueva.

Six teams are seeing action in their inaugural Fellowship Games.

These are the OPRRA Ballers, DepEd Knights, Bamboo Ballclub, YMCA Ballers, Brother In Arms, and PYFBA Youth Coaches/Volunteers.

“We play to lift others lives,” said PYFBA commissioner Jerry Capacio, brother of former PBA superstar Glenn Capacio. – EBV
