CEBU, Philippines — Close to P130,000 in cash prize it stake for the winners of the 3rd Hinulawan Joyful Cup Tatluhan and Kiddies Chess Tournament slated on June 8-9 at the CDRRMO Building in Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City.
Supported by the city government of Toledo headed by mayor Marjorie “Joie” Perales, the two-day tilt is spearheaded by the Toledo City Sports Commission and sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) through the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP).
The champion in the 3-on-3 event (team category with an average rating of 2050) will go home P30,000 richer.
The second to fifth will pocket P20,000, P10,000, P8,000, and P5,000, respectively, while the sixth to 10th will receive P3,000 each.
The top board players and top senior will get a P2,000 bonus, while the top Toledo and lady teams will both claim a P5,000 incentive.
On the other hand, the top five finishers in the kiddies (individual) 17 Under age group will take home P5,000, P4,000, P3,000, P2,000, and P1,000.
The sixth to 10th will have P500 apiece.
The top U9, U11, U13, and U15 as well as the top Toledo kiddie and female participants will earn P1,000 each.
Slots are limited only to 60 teams and 70 entries in the kiddies division.
