CEBU, Philippines — The highly anticipated “Kumong Bol-anon XV” fight card of PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions featuring Bohol’s defending champion Regie “The Filipino Phenom” Suganob against Japanese challenger Kai Ishizawa for the WBO Global light flyweight crown slated on April 30 at the Holy Name University (HNU) Gym in Tagbilaran City will be aired live on PTV Network Channel and live-streamed through PTV’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel.

This was announced by PMI Boxing head Atty. Floriezyl Echavez Podot in an official statement on Thursday night, April 25.

“The rivalry of Filipino and Japanese boxers has never been intensely high recently so to speak. While usually it is the Filipino boxer who has to fly to Japan where the big boxing events are active because of a host of fans supportive of boxing and major sponsorships, in the Suganob-Ishizawa fight, we bring to our home turf the Japanese  boxer who will challenge Suganob as he defends his WBO Global title,” Podot said.

“It is always the goal of our promotions to bring Kumong Bol-anon boxing series to all Filipinos watching worldwide. To showcase the Kumong Bol-anon XV series live on TV is a step towards this goal,” Podot added. “We are very thankful to PTV Network for giving us this opportunity to be on TV for the first time. We hope this will be the beginning of a fruitful cooperation and collaboration.”

In the same breath, Podot expressed his profound gratitude to all those who, in one way or another, have greatly helped them in making this milestone event come to fruition.

“Also, we would like to thank the team behind Kumong Bol-anon boxing series, to the boxers, the coaches, to the Games and Amusements Board headed by GAB Chairman Atty. Richard Clarin,” said Podot.

“Special thanks to the City of Tagbilaran headed by Mayor Jane C. Yap, Vice Mayor Adam Relson Jala and former Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap, and the PMI Colleges President Atty. Angge Brown Cloma for their undying support to our boxers and events, and to the fans and supporters of Kumong Bol-anon. To Holy Name University and School President Fr. Ruel Flores Lero, SVD for the venue. Be there when it happens!” Podot ended.
