The NBA will give seven individual awards this season - league MVP, Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Most Improved Player, Clutch Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.
This season’s awards will see the implementation of a rule that requires a player to play at least 65 games to qualify for any individual award. Reigning league MVP Joel Embiid, because he only played 39 regular season games, is ineligible for his second MVP.
