Cash Hub now 3-0 in Inter-Bank hoop

CEBU, Philippines —  Team Cash Hub pummeled the Unibankers, 87-57, to remain unbeaten in the inaugural Hoop Nation Inter-Bank Basketball League at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Richmond Lapinid, a  former varsity player of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars and the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters during his days in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI), dropped 26 points on top of three rebounds and one steal to spearhead Cash Hub’s 30-point obliteration of the hapless Unibankers.

Playing coach Ryan Alexis Mendez, an All-Star guard of Batch ‘89 in the now defunct Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (CECABA), chipped in 13 markers laced with two assists and two steals as Cash Hub earned a share of lead with the Metro Ballers with indentical 3-0 records.

Lloyd Jayme scattered 19 points, four rebounds, and two assists but to no avail as the Unibankers dropped to 1-3.

In the other result, the Metro Hoopers routed Sterling Bank, 73-51, to grab the solo third spot with a 2-1 win-loss card.

Emmanuel Villamor came up with a scintillating 36-point show spiked with two rebounds and four assists for the Metro Hoopers.

Mico Santos finished with 15 points and four assists for Sterling Bank, which suffered its second loss in three games. — EBV
