Slowmo grabs solo lead in Arlon Cup Season 3

CEBU, Philippines — Team Slowmo fended off the Prayboys, 81-77, for its eighth win in the Hoop Nation Arlon Cup Season 3 powered by Rock Uniform Solutions at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Hope Canonigo sizzled with 17 points, four rebounds, and two steals as Slowmo seized the solo lead in the standings with an 8-1 record.

On the other hand, Heat Check downed Steagh, 66-61, to stay at third place with a 7-3 slate.

Aldrin Fernandez paced Heat Check with 16 points, five boards, and three assists.

Dean Padinas exploded for 30 points spiked with 10 rebounds but his efforts went for naught as Steagh suffered its seventh loss in 10 games.

In the other results, the Buksquad improved to 6-5 after crushing the Mugiwara Pirates, 68-54, while the Young Chiefs of Cebu secured their fourth victory in nine starts with a 94-87 drubbing of Yamate Knights.

Michael Ebonalo paced the Buksquad with 22 points, six rebounds, and two assists, while Gio Antigua erupted with a tournament-high 40 points laced with eight rebounds and two assists for the Young Chiefs. — (FREEMAN)
