Their members are Liga ng mga Barangay President Wesley Alimoren, councilors Lalinka Yu, Alfie Ouano, and Leo Napuli and sports consultant Paul Alelu Flores.
Believing that it is one of the many ways to be active and improve health, mayor Alegado yearns to strengthen their development program for the youth through this meaningful initiative of sports for all.
Aside from creating a platform for competition and strengthening bonds among the Consolacionanons, it is also an avenue for them to discover new talents and give their aspiring athletes an opportunity to shine.
“This is really what the Alegado Cup is all about, giving our young prospects a chance to showcase their skills,” said Alelu Flores, the man behind Consolacion’s rise as a basketball power not only in the province of Cebu but also on the national stage as reflected in their highly successful campaign in the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) wherein they won a historic back-to-back championships last year.
“Our ever supportive mayor Nene Alegado hopes that through this worthwhile endeavor, we will be able to find potential players who could bring pride and honor to our beloved town in their respective fields someday. More than that, we want to further sharpen their skills and help guide them along the way in pursuit of their dreams,” Flores concluded. — EBV
