CEBU, Philippines — Coming from the inaugural Mio Gear: Play Your Tough mall campaign at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) set up the Mio Gear playground last June at SM City Cebu to test the mettle of those who want to prove their toughness through three challenges: basketball, spartan race and e-sports.
The concept behind Play Your Tough follows the passion of anyone who rides their way out from different struggles in life, whether in sports, urban or outdoor lifestyle.
YMPH created this campaign for everyone to embody grit, resilience, and tough attitude with their own Yamaha Mio Gear motorcycle.
The Mio Gear Playground in Cebu was hosted by Rizza Diaz and the local Cebuana host, Christine Fernandez.
Within the playground, YMPH exudes street style-themed with the display of the newest Yamaha Mio Gear color variant, a Spartan obstacle course, a basketball court and an esports battle-ready setup.
Complemented by the latest product upgrades, the playground features four different color variants of the Yamaha Mio Gear: Worn Gray and Matte Gray for the standard version, Matte Black, and Matte Brown for the S version.
These hues emit the simplicity of being tough on your own combined with the motorcycle’s multifunctional features, scratch protection advantage and agile handling.
Highlighting the Play your Tough spirit, YMPH invited icons to have a special exhibition game from each lifestyle.
In basketball, the former Gilas Pilipinas players: Kevin Alas, Paul Lee and Jayson Castro together with Coach Mavs and his TEAM PHENO players have their spotlight in different basketball drills and shootout challenges.
Spartan Philippines Team was represented by United VisMin OCR Community and had a tournament among their athletes.
In the e-sports community, local (LV Dragons) and national (Crimson Esports) Mobile Legends players battled their way out to victory.
YMPH dedicated its newest campaign to be within the reach of every passionate rider in the Philippines—those who are eager to play tough and willing to stay above the challenges.
After the Cebuanos had their own Mio Gear Playground experience in Visayas, YMPH brought the Mio Gear Playground to Mindanao to let Cagayanons have a go at it.
Last July 22 and 23, mall goers at SM CDO Downtown Premier were treated to an opportunity to try on the Basketball shootout challenge featuring the Philippine Basketball icons Ranidel De Ocampo and Beau Belga.
They also got to complete the obstacle course with the help of coaches from the United VisMin OCR Community (UVM), and face the series of battlefields in Mobile Legends with the invited esports team—the BIGBOYS and OCTORIAN GAMING.
On top of these experiences, the street-style-themed display of the Mio Gear motorcycles showcased the newest hues of toughness for urban, sports and outdoors. Yamaha Motor Philippines lets everyone be comfortable conquering new heights at their own pace.
The simple concept of creating a playground opens opportunities where Filipinos can see themselves achieving new adventures with the Mio Gear. The CDO leg concluded the Mio Gear: Play Your Tough mall campaign, but Yamaha revealed that it has more in store for the rest of the year.
