CEBU, Philippines —  Year two of ANTA Shock The Game will kick off at the Benedicto College gym this Saturday, June 24.

Last year, 64 teams battled it out in four elimination legs. The top four teams from each elimination leg earned a spot in the finals.

The UP Fighting Maroons, consisting of Mark Belmonte, Janjan Felicilda, Nico Tan, Alejandro Shah, and tournament MVP Reyland Torres, bested all of last year’s teams and were crowned as the first ever ANTA Shock The Game-Manila Champions.

This year, 128 teams from all over the country will battle it out over eight days of eliminations for ANTA Shock The Game-Philippines 2023.

“It will be bigger and better. Bigger kasi may nationals na tayo. Better because teams have been preparing, unlike last year when we introduced the concept nanibago sila lahat,” said coach Gabby Severino, commissioner of ANTA PH Shock The Game

“Shock The Game 2023 will be a bigger tournament in terms of geographic reach, number of teams, players and a grand finals match showcase,” said JP Paglinawan, general manager of ANTA PH.

The tournament will still feature its unique full court 4-on-4 format. First team to reach 21 points in 15 minutes, whichever comes first, wins. Each team will be allowed five players, four to play and one to substitute.

The rest of the elimination legs are set on June 25 (Epsilon Chi Center UP Diliman), July  2 (Gen. Trias Sports Complex), July  16 (San Sebastian College, Pampanga), August  5 (San Beda, Manila), August  13     (Adamson), August  20 (San Beda Alabang) and August  27 (Enderun).
