All set for Pooc Inter-Collegiate hoopla

CEBU, Philippines — Everything is already in place for the first ever Barangay Pooc, Talisay City Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament set to start on February 2.

Five teams led by reigning Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) champions University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers and runner-up University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters will see action in the five-day tournament, which is among the highlights of Pooc’s annual fiesta celebration in honor of their beloved patron Senyor San Pedro.

The other contenders are the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers, Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats, and Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras.

They will play in a single round robin format. The top two teams will slug it out for the title in a winner-take-all affair, while the No.3 and No.4 will face off each other for third place.

The champion will take home P50,000 while the second to fourth will pocket P30,000, P20,000, and P10,000, respectively. — EBV
