CEBU, Philippines — This early, the new look Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) headed by chairman John Pages has already started to outline its 2023 calendar of activities.
During their wide-ranging Board meeting last Tuesday, August 23, Pages said they have identified key programs, trainings, and tournaments that they will implement next year.
And here’s the brighter side of it.
“We will allocate budget for the 30 priority sports that we have identified,” Pages said.
Pages and the rest of CCSC executives were joined by Roseny Reyes and Mini Llanos of the Cebu City Budget Office in their Board meeting to make sure that financial side of their planned projects will be properly addressed.
They will also coordinate closely with councilor Noel Wenceslao, who is one of the new members of the commission by virtue of his being the City Council’s committee chairman on finance.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rhoel Dejaño, another latest addition to the CCSC, will be introducing a wellness initiative for Cebu City athletes soon.
“Given the pandemic that we just experienced, people realized the utmost importance of good health and wellness,” said Pages.
