Labangon, Mabolo bets sizzle in CCSC online dance tourney
CEBU, Philippines — Dance athletes from Labangon and Mabolo stole the show during the second leg of the 1st Cebu City Barangay Grassroots Online Dancesport Competition over the weekend.
Bannered by Shane Barrientos, Labangon carted away a total of 21 medals sliced into four golds, 10 silvers and seven bronzes while Mabolo matched Labangon’s four-gold output.

The ground-breaking event, a first in the Philippines and perhaps in Asia, is spearheaded by the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) headed by chairman Edward Hayco in association with the Dancesport Academy of Cebu, and the Department of Education (DepEd).
Launched last July 4, the weekly tilt was participated in by underprivileged athletes that reside in different depressed barangays under lockdown with their parents. It aims to give them hope and positive activity during these rough times.
