CEBU, Philippines — Inspired by the One World Online Dance Competition organized by European adjudicators in Italy, the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) will be staging its own version of the tournament for the city’s barangay-based dance athletes on a weekly basis starting next month.
To make sure that everything will run smoothly, Dancesport-Team Cebu City head coach Loloi Rendon said they will be having a trial competition tomorrow (Sunday, June 28), since they are just new to using some applications for the online contest.
“We will just be having few kids (in the trials) to know the accuracy of the application including judging, which will be manual but we have to use application to tabulate,” said Rendon, one of the Philippines’ first international adjudicators.
CCSC chairman Edward Hayco revealed that they will officially kick off their online tilt on July 4, this time bigger with at least 50 entries from barangay teams in the city.
“We will make this a weekly competition to keep the barangay kids excited and not idle. It’s also a way to keep them in shape,” said Hayco.
Meanwhile, Dancesport-TCC will be fielding in five bets in the fourth edition of the One World Online showdown.
Around 500 dancers from all over the world will be joining in the contest that will start at 9 p.m. today and end at 4 a.m. on Sunday (Phl time).
