13th Pink October Run set October 13

CEBU, Philippines — Everything’s in place for the staging of the 13th edition of the Pink October Run that takes place on October 13 at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

The running event which promotes breast cancer awareness features three race lengths—12K, 6K and 3K.

The organizing Philippine College of Surgeons-Central Visayas Chapter believes that the race is now considered as the longest existing cancer awareness-related running event in the country.

With the success of the previous editions, other cities and chapters of the Philippine College of Surgeons and the Philippine Society of General Surgeons have also organized their own running events.

Just like in the previous editions, there are no cash prizes, but there will be special prizes at stake for the top performers of the event.

The active participation of the iCan Serve Foundation has added an impact as cancer survivors have showed to the rest that there is hope to sustain life and live to the fullest.

“This race has really served its purpose in terms of awareness to people about breast cancer. We are doing this event to save more people,” said race organizer Dr. Peter Mancao.

Participants can also avail a free medical checkup after the race.

Registration fee is pegged at P500 for all categories.  Registration booths are located at the Active Zone in Ayala Center Cebu.
