BAI organizes run for victims of drug abuse

CEBU, Philippines — Seeing running as a way to help victims of drug abuse and addiction, the Battle Against Ignorance Foundation Inc. is spearheading a fundraising race dubbed as “Dagan Ta BAI Freedom Run 2019” set on July 20 at the Pescadores Road in Cebu Business Park.

The run, which is for the benefit of the Safehaven Recovery Village Rehabilitation and Treatment Center, features the 5K, 10K and 21K categories.

“It is not just an ordinary run. It is a run for hope with a strong message for everyone who is in a bondage of hopelessness and powerlessness, that there is a better life that awaits,” said Imee Evangelista of BAI Foundation.

The organizers said that around 2,300 people who have expressed their interest to join.

Loot bags will be given to all finishers while all 21K finishers will also receive a medal.

Entry fee is pegged at P500 to all categories. The organizers has a special discount for students at P390 only which is valid until June 30.

Registration forms are available at Talamban Christian School, Cebu City Sports Center, Toby’s in SM City Cebu and Runnr Store in Ayala Center Cebu. (FREEMAN)
